That’s not an experience that we want to give to our players. We think that most players would requeue again – or pick a different tank and requeue again – but if the timeout happened again, they’d just quit the game. Put simply, we don’t want players to queue up and timeout. The population numbers during the week are even lower, so it would be impossible to have it enabled then. There’s a significant number of people who did wait the 5 minutes without getting a match. When we’ve had +/-1 events in the past, the situation at low population time on weekends gets even worse. To be clear, there are instances, which very rarely occur, where in the normal matchmaking someone has to wait 5 minutes without finding a battle.

Note that a bot match means that someone waited – as of this writing – at least 3 minutes in queue. We don’t like having to make bot matches, but having bot matches avoids someone waiting in queue for 5 minutes without getting a match. At the lowest population point of the day, the average queue time jumps substantially to the point where bots in matches are the rule, and not the exception.

The problems, however, start occurring when it’s no longer peak hours. During prime time (late afternoon/evening EU & late afternoon/evening NA) – the matchmakers don’t have a problem doing the above. Q: What do you mean by “good experience”? – We’d rather wait longer to get a +/-1 match then get a +/-2 match? A “good experience” is one where the two teams have similar composition, no bots, and the person who waited the longest for a match, waited less than 60 seconds. Q: Why won’t you enable +/-1 Matchmaking fulltime or have it more often on weekends? There aren’t the numbers of players required during the low population time – even on weekends – to actually give players a good experience queuing up for a match. (please reddit formatting, be nice to me) If i won't be able, i will make sure to forward those to him so we can maybe share some more details. So before you get your torches and pitchforks out, read the thread and then i will try to answer all of your concerns / questions.

Especially important to me are the stream recap posts, memes and other feedback threads.Įspecially with the matchmaking tests, we often receive the questions (or statement) why we are not introducing +1/-1 as a permanent option ("We want +1/-1"). I am a frequent Reddit user myself and i go through the majority of posts religiously. If you are here because of that then this is not the post you are looking for. No, you won't find anything regarding "Arty nerf" here. TL DR: This post is specifically for you, if you want answers for +1/-1 matchmaking, queue times, more bots in matchmaking to support +1/-1, 5-Man platoons and more tank class balanced matchmaking. Please share your experience of this weekends test with us, it is important. I hope you all had a great weekend! As many of you know, we are currently running a test regarding the matchmaker.īefore we jump into todays topic, i would like to ask you all for your feedback here.
